Essentially, the word “yoga” means a “union.” A union of the individual’s consciousness with the Universal infinite consciousness. Yoga is not merely a system to keep your physical body in great shape as some may think. Yoga is a technology of awareness.
The nature of every human being is that we are infinite and creative in potential. This infinite potential however may be limited in practical action by our belief systems, past trauma, subconscious patterns, etc. Kundalini Yoga balances the mind-body-spirit equation and fills your life with joy.
Kundalini is an energy that sleeps at the base of your spine. When it is awakened, it starts rising up the spine to your head, bringing radiance and creativity to your being. And we can assure you that once you learn how to raise your kundalini, your life will change completely, in a positive way. It is a very powerful technology—the technology of human consciousness.
Kundalini Yoga is Raj Yoga – Royal yoga that used to be very secret. Why? Because it expands your consciousness so much that it is impossible to control you. When your kundalini rises you become mentally, physically and spiritually healthy and can see through any lies. Kundalini is considered the most comprehensive of all yogas, combining meditation, mantras, kriyas and breathing exercises that are beautifully interlaced within each class. It is a complete science. It is based on eight limbs of yoga as defined by Patanjali.
Kundalini yoga was brought to the States by Yogi Bhajan where he started teaching it openly in 1969.
Through meditation, you can calm the mind and develop your intuition to recognize what is real and important to you. Yoga can help immensely in resisting depression and stress! Mantras help us reprogram the mind, delivering a specific message to our subconscious mind. Everything is a vibration. Mantra is a wave that can cut through any negativity, any addiction and elevate you to the heights of ecstasy. Kriya means action. Kriya in yoga is a sequence of postures, breath and sound that are integrated together to allow the manifestation of a particular state. Breath is Prana and Prana is life. We use numerous Pranayamas in Kundalini Yoga that are specific types of breath which help us achieve certain states of mind/body/spirit. Yogic diet is another important facet of a yogic lifestyle that can make one stronger and healthier.
Kundalini Yoga is a science which works on seven chakras, the arcline and the aura. Kundalini yoga teaches you to build a strong immune, glandular and nervous systems, good circulation and an awareness of the impact of your habits as well as the strength to transform those habits. Through your regular yoga practice you go through the process of inner alchemy, inner transformation where you can witness obstacles and challenges shift and take shape of your stepping stones, taking you to new heights of your own consciousness. It is such joy to be in this process and witness great change to take place and experience your own expansion.
Kundalini Yoga was designed as a yoga of a householder. While classical yoga is generally a way of a celibate devoting their life to an ascetic path, Kundalini Yoga is for people living busy lifestyles and being a part of the society so that you can bring your light to the world and radiate creativity and Infinity into all aspects of your daily life. It is for the ones who may not have the time to sit for years in a cave. Kundalini Yoga enables you to go through any turmoil and yet not lose your balance but rather feel empowered. The strength of Kundalini Yoga lies in the actual experience. It goes right into your heart and extends your consciousness so you may have a wider horizon of grace, of knowing the truth and of seeing God in everything. Ultimately, you come to understand your existence in relationship to the Universe and understand who you are, and this brings you to the practical experience of Infinity. And most importantly, you become a happy, healthy and holy person through your practice!
